Nitric Oxide – and the Benefits it can Bring to Your Heart

There is a supplement that can dramatically improve your cardiovascular system

This week we are discussing an interesting article written by Dr. Edwin Lee which was published in Alternative Therapies, Vol. 22 no. 52. Dr. Lee conducted a pilot study of 10 individuals who were asymptomatic for cardiovascular disease. In this study he wanted to measure something called the carotid intima media thickness of the carotid artery.

Dr. Lee acknowledges that cardiovascular disease is among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. He is looking for something that will reduce the plaque build-up in the carotid artery long before symptoms of cardiovascular disease become a problem. He states that the carotid intima media thickness can be so measured and if it can be reduced in thickness (these being the two inner layers of the carotid artery) then he believes that the statistical chance of cardiovascular disease and fatal heart attacks can be reduced.

As part of the construct of the pilot study it was determined that a substance called Neo40, a compounded supplement that increases the amount of nitrous oxide, would be administered twice daily to the participants of the study. His curiosity was whether or not the administration of this supplement, which is an over the counter, orally disintegrating tablet would demonstrate a reduction of the thickness of the lining and if it would be able to stimulate the body’s natural production of NO. (nitric oxide).

Based on the clinical data of the tests exactly those conditions were met.  The thickness of the carotid intima media was measured at the beginning of the trial and again at the end. A third test was administered when the patients visited the doctor at the end of the study. All three test results were averaged together and demonstrate both a reduction in the thickness of the carotid intima media thickness and an increased production of the endogenously produced nitric oxide of the patient.

We should further share that none of the patients were symptomatic when they began the test, the test was to measure one of the most reliable predictors of the oncoming cardiovascular disease. None were on statins and all were taking some dietary supplements. The patients were asked to continue their existing medical regimen and they added twice daily doses of Neo40 to it.

Both the left and right carotid arteries showed reductions in thickness and thereby seem to demonstrate the reduction of the predictability factors that have long been considered as sure indicators of the potential for a heart attack.

Perhaps this is something that you would like to speak to your doctor about and discuss with them whether or not adding Neo40 to your supplemental intake can help you avoid the possibility of cardiovascular struggles down the road!
